Given a previous project, I modified my model and gave a new project name as well as the new file name, i.e. this new project was saved as a new file. However, phoenix does not allow me to load the old and new files at the same time.

It prompts "Project Conflict: The project being loaded is a copy of project "XXX".  (2) In order to load copies of projects at the same time, some additional work must be clone to ensure unique identification of items across the projects which might take some time. To avoid a possible delay, click cancel and close project "XXX" prior to re-loading this project."

I am wondering what exactly "additional work" much be done so that I can load these two projects at the same time.

Thanks,

Sibo

Hi Sibo, in my experience this addtional work is not often sucessful.  If I want to make a copy of my project what I do is export the source data and your work flow to create a NEW project from.  Remember to use data links to make it quicker/easier to re-map your data.

I am not sure why Phoenix was designed to block users from loading two projects, making project comparison so cumbersome. If the additional work generally does not work, such suggestion should be removed from the warning message.

it's not that it was deliberately designed that way but to prevent the loading two projects intefering with and corrupting each other.  In my experience it may work but I generally avoid it if I can.

Maybe a workaround if you want to see both files at the same time would be to save the 'dependencies' of one and then open that in a browser ?  See https://support.cert...t-files/?p=2056

or see the section Exporting a workflow

 Simon.

PS with Intergral there are some extra options for comparing objects from a Phoenix project, but I will also pass on your feedback to the Phoenix Product Manager.

Sibo,I spoke with the PM and he said if you can email your two projects to support@certara.com then he will ask the developers to take a look as to what the problem is. Simon.

(PS please reference this thread for background).
