How to edit legends in Phoenix XY plots?.

Plots will display legends according to the values of the variables selected as ‘Group’ in the mapping grid. For example, in the graph below the variable Day was selected as a group variable. The values of Day were 1 and 7 and those values are displayed in the legend.

To change the legend without changing the data the user can select the group within the Graphs tree on the bottom left hand side under Options. For example to change the value of 1 to Day 1, select the group 1 (not the Legend option) and type the desired value in the Legend Text box.

Repeat for the value of 7 typing Day=7. Execute the object.

Note that this legend does NOT refresh on real time and you will need to re-execute the object to see the change.

To finish cleaning the legend I might also want to remove the ‘conc vs time’ title from the legend by selecting the Option of ‘Legend’ in the tree and then unchecking the option to display graph names.

Copying/pasting this object or making a template or changing the mappings will maintain these formatting changes.

Is there any way to add a horizontal dash on the vertical error bar? IIn WNL 5.2, you can customize the length of horizonal dash on a vertical error bar, and by default, the dash bar is set with a defaulted size about 10, but phoenix seems removes it, instead provides the options for editting the central marker, which I do not usually use.

The current way the plotting module works is that the width of the bars is a percentage of the shortest distance between two bars. So, if you have error bars at x=1, 2, 4, 8, and 16, all will have widths that are a % of 1 (the distance between 1 and 2). Therefore the width of the errors bars change with the data being plotted or if you change the x-axis range.

We realize that this is not ideal and your request will be considered for future releases. To keep track of this issue look for QC9291 in future release notes.

The error bar setting in WNL 5.2 seems good enough, not sure how others feel.
