Using Multitransform to remove too many subjects can cause a PKS Save error 0

***NOTE: This issue applies to using WinNonlin versions 5.1.1 and earlier with PKS. The issue is fixed in WinNonlin 5.2***

WinNonlin 5.1.1 has a limitation of 2,000 characters, including spaces, in the History tab Description column. Each time a subject gets excluded using MultiTransform, another line gets added to the History tab description entry. Excluding approximately 50 subjects in the same study can exceed this 2,000 character limit.

There are two ways to work around this issue:

1. In the Save Scenario dialog asking for the scenario name and reason, click on the "Format..." button. Expand the tree associated with the workbook that has the multi-transform output. Check the History sheet. This will cause the History sheet to not be extracted into a scenario dataset. This should allow the save to proceed without the Error 0 message.

2. Use multiple Multi-Transform operations if you want to remove large numbers of subjects. For example, the dataset has 100 subjects and you want to remove 50 of them. Set up a multi-transform to remove 25 of them. This creates a new dataset with 75 subjects. Then, do a multi-transform on the 75-subject dataset, to remove 25 more subjects and create the final dataset with 50 subjects.

A more permanent solution would be to upgrade to WinNonlin 5.2.
