Dear all,

 

is it possible to keep data visible in Table and somehow flag them because of outlying values and at the same time exclude it from statistics?

Hi Jan, there is a very easy and neat trick I use.  Simply append a character value to the data you want to flag in a Data Wizard; (I also round it at the same time to the same precision as the other numeric values will be rounded in the table).

 

then when this data is summarisd in the table, the non-numeric vlaues are automatically excluded from summary stats, I thought there was an example on here already but I couldn't find it with a quick search; if you can't work it out please post an example project and I'll show you how to tweak it.  Simon

thanks for your advice. I understand the principle but I failed to do it using Data Wizard. Would you mind pushing me a bit more? I attached example project. I would like to exclude Subj. No. 17 from Cohort 3.

Please look at this simple example.  I should comment that AutoPilot and other tools like PKassist will allow you to perform this in a more automated manner but if you only have a few tables to work on this is quick to do.

 

Note in Phoenix you will be creating a new column so I unmapped the old column Cmax from you table to use CmaxNew, which I then renamed (and subscripted) using the Tables native functions for Column Titles.  I also added a footnote, you could use any (and several) symbols if required.
